I recently co-organized a PhD and early-career symposium at the University of Manchester, together with my friends Laura Mafizzoli and Rozafa Berisha. We called it When Things don’t Hold: Anthropologies of Failure, Breakdown, and Dysfunction, and we invited 9 participants to present their work. We were also lucky to have Madeleine Reeves (Manchester) and Hannah Knox (UCL) as our two keynote speakers. We arranged four panels in total, with one discussant in each: Jeanette Edwards, Michelle Obeid, Başak Saraç-Lesavre, and William Wheeler. Find the symposium description here. We are now busy putting together a thematic series for Allegra Lab, to be published later this year.
